Meet Karla

Founder & Creative Director

Born in Honduras with Puerto Rican and New York roots, Karla brings a unique blend of warmth, leadership, and intuitive understanding to every celebration she creates.

From a young age, she knew she was drawn to creating environments where people feel welcomed, supported, and at home. That instinct has shaped every step of her journey — and is now the foundation of Wildly Rooted Weddings.

In 2024, Wildly Rooted Weddings was born.
A reflection of her journey, her growth, and the belief that beautiful celebrations are built from both emotion and structure.

The name itself came from a moment of reflection: a life deeply rooted in experience, shaped by a wild and evolving path. What she discovered instead was her natural ability to lead, communicate, and create meaningful experiences for others. Rooted in Calm, Chamomile, woven into the brand, symbolizes what clients feel throughout the process, a sense of calm, trust, and ease.

The Roots

Karla moved to New York at a young age, growing up on the Upper East Side after arriving from Honduras, speaking only Spanish. Now she is fluent in both English + Spanish.

Originally pursuing a career in veterinary medicine, she studied Biology and worked as a vet tech before realizing she was deeply sensitive to that environment. What she discovered instead was her natural ability to lead, communicate, and create meaningful experiences for others.

She went on to spend 12 years in a high-level medical practice, building systems, training teams, and cultivating relationships, all while unknowingly developing the foundation for her future in events.

The Experience

Karla’s introduction to the event world began through a chance connection with an invitation designer, leading her into an event production company where she started as a receptionist and quickly rose through the ranks.

Over 15 years, she evolved into a project manager, event producer, and operations leader, helping execute everything from immersive brand experiences to large-scale fundraisers and custom multi-day installations.

After stepping away from corporate event production, Karla transitioned into weddings, supporting a local planner and leading events of her own.

But something deeper was calling, a desire to fully own her vision, her leadership, and the way she serves her clients.

Let’s celebrate your love story, together.
